Justice Barbara Lagoa was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court by Governor Ron DeSantis on January 9, 2019. She previously served on the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami after her appointment by Governor Jeb Bush in June 2006. In 2003, Justice Lagoa joined the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida as an Assistant United States Attorney, where she worked in the Civil, Major Crimes and Appellate Sections.
